Florida is a top tourist destination because of our beautiful weather year round. Our roads experience a significant increase in traffic during winter holidays and summer vacation months. Due to this reality and the coming winter holidays, we'd like to touch on a few driving tips to keep in mind.
1. Tire Pressure
Tire pressure is something you should check year round. Why? Because tire pressure fluctuates as temperatures fluctuate, and low tire pressure can cause blowouts and the last thing you want is to be doing is changing a tire on the side of the road.
2. Windshield Wipers
Florida is known for its rain storms, so it's always good to make sure you have windshield wipers that work. They are cheap to purchase and easy to replace.
3. Coolant levels
Hopefully you won't experience the below scary driving situations, but if you do, we figured it's better to be prepared than not.
1. Oncoming car in your lane
If a car is coming at you in your lane, immediately start looking for a place to yield. Don't make abrupt maneuvers. Make calculated ones. Honk and flash your vehicle's headlights to make the driver notice you and once you see a safe place to turn off, turn off the road.
2. Blinding sun
Shades and sun visors. No shades? Use the visor to block the light as much as possible and continue forward slowly. Avoid making sudden maneuvers or braking too fast because everyone around also probably has limited visibility.
3. The tailgater
We're not talking about grilling out in parking lot on game day. We're talking about...

Everyone has some tip or trick when it comes to buying a new or used car. Some tips are true while many are myths. Today, we're going to break three car buying myths that have somehow survived many generations.
Myth #1 Hold back your trade in and get a better deal.
This tactic might have worked when car dealerships were new to society, but now car dealerships have seen this tactic done so much that we aren't surprised when it happens. What you really get out of this tactic, known in the dealership world as "parachuting the trade", is more hours spent in the dealership and no extra trade-in value gained. We inspect and value all trade-ins the same, and the value of your vehicle is based on year, model, mileage, condition and demand.
Myth #2 If you special order, it...
Trucks are as much of a tool as they are a toy. They are built to work hard, haul, tow and trample many types of terrain. However, even the best truck can fail on the job if the driver loses a tool or cannot fit all the tools needed for a job in the truck. Because of this fact, customization options continue to grow for trucks, allowing them to become as organized as a tool box. Let your truck organize your tools for you with a few accessory tips from Phil Smith Chevrolet.
A bedliner is more about protection than a space-saving feature but in terms of helping your truck last longer, this is a must need. It will protect a truck's metal bed from acquiring dents and dings.
The tool box accessories do exactly what you'd expect. They organize your tools and keep...
